Tulse Hill School

In the Tulse Hill nursery, we added a minimalist new link building to connect a 1950’s block with a Grade II listed townhouse. The addition, whose lightweight appearance is achieved through floor to ceiling glass framed in English oak, houses a sunny, level-access reception and welcoming parents’ cafe. A floating metal stair leads to a multi-use space above. Opening up the original rooms to create expansive play areas required meticulous detailing to protect the historic townhouse, from its black and white tiled entrance hall to rooftop playground.
